This Guide has been created to help you prepare for your pregnancy/ parental leave. It provides an overview of issues related to pregnancy/parental leaves and benefits and provides answers to many questions that commonly arise. OSSTF updated this document in December 2022.

The application must be in on-time in order to be considered. The deadline is March 1, 2023 for term vacancies. Applications received after that time will be considered late and will only be considered for appointment if there are insufficient on-time applications for a specific committee/council. Please note, the deadline for co-option applications is May 1, 2023.

Project Overseas is a joint endeavour of the Canadian Teachers’ Federation (CTF/FCE) and its member organizations to support partners in developing countries as they co-plan and co-deliver professional learning to local educators.
This project is part of the CTF/FCE’s International and Social Justice Program, which focuses on teachers taking action for:
OSSTF/FEESO will sponsor up to TWO (2) members to participate in Project Overseas 2023. Participants must be available for assignments during the month of July and meet a list of criteria set out by CTF/FCE.
