The "District" refers to the umbrella organization for the three bargaining units of OSSTF Limestone District 27:
OSSTF Limestone District 27 is governed by a Constitution and Bylaws which are passed each year at the Annual General Meeting. Services and activities of OSSTF Limestone District 27 are run out of the District Office in Kingston.
There are some positions on the District and TBU Executives which are appointed
at the June Executive Meetings. You can find the ads and application process by clicking on the hands up photo or scrolling to the bottom of this page.

There are five standing committees in District 27: District Collective Bargaining, Communication & Political Action, Constitution, Educational Services and Status of Women.
These committees meet monthly and report to our District Executive.

The Communications and Political Action Committee (CPAC) meets monthly and assists the Executive in keeping the membership informed on political issues, concerns relevant to their role and all matters affecting the welfare of the District.
The Educational Services Committee meets monthly and deals with upcoming education policy and professional development opportunities.
The Status of Women Committee meets monthly and provides a forum for discussing issues relevant to the professional careers of the women members of Limestone District 27. The Committee may provide sponsorships of programs or speakers that are relevant to the careers of women.
The District CBC is comprised of the Chief Negotiators, and other interested members of each Bargaining Unit. The Committee shares information on collective bargaining among themselves.
The Constitution Committee meets monthly to examine the Constitution, develop language as directed by the District and Bargaining Unit Executives and advises the Executives on new language needed for the Constitution.
The AGM for the District and the Teachers' Bargaining Unit will be held on Wednesday May 17, 2023 at the Travelodge Hotel.
The District AGM will begin at 4:30 pm . The Teachers' Bargaining Unit AGM will follow immediately after. Drinks and finger foods will be provided.
It is at the AGM that our annual Budget is set and changes can be made to our Constitution and Bylaws. Also, there are District and TBU Awards given at the AGM.
Elections for many Executive positions take place every two years (odd numbered years). This is an election year! You can find the Election Rules for 2023 below.
Meeting materials will be uploaded to this website as they are ready and emailed to Members according to the deadlines laid out in the Constitution (Bylaw 8).
The Constitution and Bylaws that govern our organization can only be amended by the Members at a General Meeting.
The District and TBU Election Rules are set in the year preceding the election and were presented to the respective AGMs in May 2022. The rules and nomination forms can be downloaded below. The memo, which was emailed to all Members, has specific information about positions up for election and timelines.
Each year at our District AGM, a number of awards are presented to Members. This year, nominations are due to the District Office on April 12 at 4:00 pm.

All members of the District (Teachers, Instructors and PSSP) are eligible to be nominated for all the awards below except the Wib Mayor Award which is only for Teachers.
Nominations are now closed for this year. Award winners will be recognized at the AGM on May 17.
